Blow Up Reprise 2, 2019

“Blow Up Reprise 2” is a photographic work that references Antonioni’s 1966 film *Blow Up*. When I first saw the film in the late 1970s, it made a profound impression on me and certainly encouraged me to turn to photography and photographic art.
In the film, the photographer Thomas feverishly examines a grainy, low-resolution analog photograph in an attempt to uncover a mystery. In my diptych, the possibility of the enigmatic visual trace dissolves into an oversized, vintage photo wallpaper.
